Lunokhod was the first robot to be in space. Lunokhod first landed on the moon 11/17/70. During Lunokhod's time on the moon Lunokhod travled over 6 miles.Also Lunokhod took over 20,000 pictures during the time in space. Lunokhod tested the moon's soil for 11 months to bring back to the scientists.
